Gated Music Category and Fee problems Day 3 Amazon FBA

Now that I have my items to sell and my Amazon account completely set up it is time to sell. So out of all my books and CD's I decided to see if I could list the Simple Plan CD that I got. Yet again reality hits with another road block. I am informed that I am not allowed to sell CD's yet. Also this particular is brand gated as well. But as always when there is a will there is a way. Once I scrolled down a little further I saw another listing for the same CD but under a different UPC. This listing actually says it is only restricted for the Music category. I can get un-gated for that. Also I noticed that neither of these listings were my actual UPC. So I decided it would be best to search my actual UPC code. Interestingly they all have very different sales ranks. The brand gated one has the best sales rank. The rank for the CD I got doesn't seem bad though. Also it is not brand gated so yay! With some extra work I can sell this CD and the handful of others I ha...

Extra requirements Day 2 Amazon FBA

I now have a bunch of books and CD's to sell on Amazon. So the next step would be to find the best way to sell them. I could ship them all to Amazon, I could ship them to each buyer when I receive a purchase on amazon or I could even sell them elsewhere if need be. But in reality nothing is ever simple especially for the first time. I will have to do my research on how to get my items out the door but first I remembered I still need to finish setting up my account. Today after vacuuming the house, getting the dishes done, cleaning printer heads by hand and every other little thing that could happen in ones life I got around to the next step in this Amazon FBA process. So initially when you set up your account Amazon asks for a bunch of information including your Social Security number. Yet after you reach your account, you need to send them more information. To complete account setup you need to give Amazon a valid ID (in the U.S your drivers licence or equivalent Id). You...

Sourcing Books Day 1 Amazon FBA

I have been educating myself about becoming a FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) seller. After hours of research I decided it was time to try the simplest beginner method, selling used books. Well aside from selling items out of my own home that is. Originally I was going to do Online arbitrage but the investment was clearly higher and more high risk. As after calculating the fees I saw that even items 50% off resold on amazon can end of netting zero to negative profit. First thing I did was to sign up for Amazon FBA, this way I would be able to use the Amazon Sellers App to be able to scan the books that I found. Next thing I did was look online for book sales. Since it is winter I figured there would be no tag sales to find. Thrift stores were another option, but I ended up finding a book sale a couple towns over. So I downloaded the Amazon Sellers App and looked up the event details. The sale was open to the public, I just need to make sure I woke up by 8AM on a Saturday(not the eas...
